Mark Van De Veer

I was raised in Olathe, Kansas, watching the city grow from less than 8,000 people to over 80,000 people. In 1983, I graduated from the University of Kansas with a dual bachelor´s degree in accounting and business administration.

Beginning my career in the medical industry selling durable medical equipment, I started my own business in medical sales with a partner when we moved to North Texas. I had a business of preparing tax returns for the last 7 years prior to joining the staff at Patrick L. Murray as a staff accountant in January 2005.

I met my lovely wife of 14 years in my church in Kansas. We moved to Plano in 1994, purchasing a home in McKinney in 1996. We have enjoyed watching McKinney grow and love the mixture of the old downtown and the new communities being built.

We have three children--two daughters and a son. I am an active member at the First Baptist Church in McKinney. Also, I enjoyed serving on the Board of Directors for 2 years at the Samaritan Inn as treasurer, assisting them as they expanded to their new facility. My hobbies include spending time with my family, chess, Bible study, and camping.
